classmates' blogs

How to make GHFC better is a very useful blog in my opinion. I believe it has a lot of good information about fitness and nutrition. The only thing I did not like was that the blogger never mentions what GHFC stands for. I am guessing it has something to do with health and fitness but I do not know what it stands for. The blogger mentions a new plan of making sure personal trainers know their trainee well. I think it would be great to have a personal trainer that really knows me good and can help me in every aspect.

Hear See Speak is a blog related to AIDS awareness. I think they did a good job of picking other blogs and websites that relate. I really liked the blog about the man who has AIDS. I thought this was very informative and really brings the issue to life. This is a very informative blog.

Related Blogs

There are several different blogs that relate to eye care. The first one I found was good because it discusses a variety of different things. It talks about anything from sunglasses with an MP3 built in to possibilities for undergraduates to get a head start on becoming an optometrist. The blog is called Best Optometry Blog.

The second blog is The Optometry Blog. This blog is from the U.K. and discusses current issues in optometry. I think it is good to look at blogs based out of other countries than the U.S. in order to stay connected and make sure we are aware of what is going on in the optometry world elsewhere.

I found an article in Review of Optometry that is very interesting. The article discusses the brush strokes of historic artists. We always think of those artists crude and fuzzy brush strokes as a way to capture a fleeting moment or some sort of technique. The article says that their is a chance that it could have been from defects or disease in their eyes.

Interesting discussion forums

The first forum I went to was about.com vision. One person said they went for a vision test and claimed that because the doctor dialated the pupils that person got the wrong prescription. A doctor replied and explained that it is important for a doctor to dialate the pupils in order to test your vision when the muscles are relaxed.

The second forum I went to is for optometry professionals. They had a blog about a historic eye manuel that discusses the eyes and different treatments. It is very interesting.
